A National Crisis Demands Action

by | Feb 13, 2023

Previous reports show that every day, up to 22 American veterans take their own lives. This staggering statistic highlights the critical need for action to reduce veteran suicide. Fortunately, Whitewater Band of Brothers Ministries and other organizations like it have had a positive impact as recent reports show that the number has fallen to as low as 17 veterans per day. Of course, one veteran lost to suicide is unacceptable.

That is why Whitewater Ministries through its programs like The Eagles Haven is still working to provide resources, raise awareness, and support veterans and first responders in their time of need. From crisis hotlines to peer support groups, mental health resources, and financial assistance, we are dedicated to connecting veterans with the help they need.

We also advocate for increased funding for mental health services and policy improvements at the VA to deliver better care to veterans. National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month is a time to reflect on the importance of supporting our nation’s heroes. Everyone can make a difference by volunteering, donating, or spreading awareness. If you or a veteran you know is struggling, reach out to our organization or the VA’s Veterans Crisis Line at #988 then press 1. Let’s end the veteran suicide crisis together.
