For Veterans

With Wings as Eagles

Isaiah 40:30-31 (KJV)

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Take heart my Brother In Arms, You are not yet defeated!

I to felt weary at times while Navigating my own River of Life! I cannot know what you may be feeling?  However, I do know you are still the person God Created! And if you will hold on a bit longer, and please consider contacting me.  I will be your new friend, a Vietnam Veteran who can understand. You once said when you took the Oath of Enlistment,  “So, Help Me God.” I promise God heard You and is ready to help You.

I will help You ask if you desire? God just will not force Himself upon You. You must ask, and as the scripture suggests God will renew Your strength and Help You Mount up again on Your Own Wings as the Eagle You still are! Strength in Times of Trouble

You Can Pray for Yourself

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:   Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same addictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”   1 Peter 5:8-9

When a pack of lions hunt water buffalo, they follow the herd and watch it a while. They pick out a straggler that is off on its own, or separate one from the rest of the herd. The lions are not interested in a fight, they are just looking for an easy meal. They do not dare confront the entire herd because they would be trampled to death. There is strength and protection in numbers.

Our enemy walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. As a Christian, this means that the lone ranger becomes a lonely stranger, and a prime choice for the enemy’s target. You are a wise man to have Christian friends in your life. You need people who will pray with you, help protect you from attacks, encourage you, and add happiness and strength to your daily life. People who are still there when the others are gone. People who will have your back and you theirs. In other words a band of brothers. Remind you of anything? Remember when you knew there was no way your brothers would ever leave you behind on the battlefield. The feeling of comradery in your unit was rock solid, much like you felt when you were a little boy.  When you just knew mom and dad loved you, and were always there for you. Christ and His people offer the same Love.

Fellowship with one another is important. During some very dark times in our life, we had friends that prayed for us every day, when I no longer had the strength to. Their prayers pulled me through, and eventually I got back on my feet. At other times, they were in need of prayer and we prayed with them.

Try to get involved in activities with other Christians. If you are able, start serving at a local church, join a life group, attend a Bible study, intercessory prayer, soon you will have many friends. If you have no church to go to We can help you meet some people, make some new friends. You may already know some of them. Know that our adversary, the devil, seeks out those walking alone, and he loves an easy target. You are my brother in arm’s, please don’t let yourself be that easy target.  Let me help you join a new band of brothers, like the one you had in the military.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father please help me to find my place in the body of Christ. Put the people in my life that should be there. Bring encouragement, hope, and brotherhood back into my life and guide me to where I need to be, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

You can pray for your self.

 You Are Forgiven

“John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet   I am not worthy to loose. These things were done in Beth-ab-a-ra beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”  John 1:26-29 KJV

Adam and Eve disobeyed the Lord’s one commandment while living in the Garden of Eden and it caused a rift between man and God for ages. Then God sent His only begotten Son Jesus to heal this gap, to buy us back. The perfect sacrifice, Jesus took all the sin of the world onto Himself when He died on the cross.

Just as one man, Adam, created the wound, one perfect Man, Jesus, healed it. The word ‘world’ in this verse means “Cosmos”, meaning universe.  Jesus took away the sin of the universe.  Though He did this over two thousand years ago, every sin that your great great grandchildren will commit has already been paid for, even if they live on the Moon. For He is God of the universe.

Still, forgiveness is not automatic.  You actually have to ask for it.  If we say that we have committed no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, the God of the universe is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9)

You may have been a part of, and committed many bad things in your life, and have many problems in your life, but a sin problem is not one of them.  No matter what you have done or been a part of in your life, simply say, ‘God forgive me’ and then try your best to live a good life.  Jesus suffered for you and has already paid the price because God thought you were worth dying for.  You are worth dying for.  Never again look down at yourself, for He would have died just for you.

You can pray for forgiveness.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father please forgive me of my sins, the things that I have done and have been a part of, and that I am ashamed of in my life. Please come into my heart and lead me from this day onward. Help me to forget bad memories, to feel worthy, to make right decisions, to make right choices, and to open right doors for me. Lord, God, thank you for loving me first, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

George Washington Praying

George Washington praying.

We Pray for You.

I now make it my earnest prayer that God would have you and the community in which you reside, in His Holy Protection, that He would incline the hearts of its citizens, to cultivate a spirit of appreciative acknowledgement towards our veterans.

We Love our nations veterans for what they, every one of them, represents.  That is all that is good and virtuous contained within the Declaration of Independence, and our Constitution and the Bill of Rights associated with it.  So many of your friends, neighbors, son’s and daughter’s took a solemn oath to support and defend the same.  And in doing so, risked losing everything they had, and everything they were ever going to have, In exchange for the freedoms each of us may so richly enjoy every day.  A Veterans sacrifice for freedom was great.  With some carrying physical, and mental wounds, it is still great.  Please share my prayer, that the citizens of every one of our nations communities will minister too, (Care for) their veterans, at every encounter.  Is this not too much to ask, given what they have done for us?
