Eagles Traits

by | Feb 7, 2024

I believe that our ‘Defenders of America’ possess some of the same characteristics of eagles. Unfortunately, some of our heroes are no longer realizing their potential do to the storms of life they may be going through. Whitewater Ministries project ‘The Eagles Haven’ is dedicated to providing support for our veterans and first responders and encouraging them to be the eagles that they are.

7 traits of an Eagle

#1) Eagles fly alone, or with other eagles at high altitude. They don’t fly with lesser birds like wrens, sparrows, ravens, crows, or mag pies. The point being. In life you will become like who you associate with.

#2) Eagles have vision. Eagles can focus on something as far as 5 kilometers away. An eagle will not move his focus off the prey until he grabs it. Meaning have a vision, and no matter what the obstacles and challenges in life, never give up, never quit and you will succeed.

#3) Eagles are fearless, an eagle will never surrender to the size or strength of its prey. An eagle will always give a fight to win its prey or regain its territory. Meaning no matter what the size, or how big your problems are, don’t give up instead face it. Successful people are fearless, they face problems head on.

#4) Eagles are tenacious. When storm clouds gather on the horizon, eagles get excited. Eagles know that with the storms in life come big up drafts. With these up drafts they can set their wings to soar, glide, and rest above the clouds. Meanwhile the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree. Meaning, achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they use the opportunity to see a broader expanse of their territory for learning and profitability.

#5) Eagles never eat dead things. Eagles don’t eat dead meat. Meaning Eagles don’t scavenge, they only eat the meat they kill themselves, meaning do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer, leaving your past where it belongs, in the past.

#6) Eagles prepare for training. They remove the feathers and soft grass from the nest. So, the young ones become uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually they fly when it becomes too unbearable to stay in the nest. Meaning leave your comfort zone there is no growth there.

Finally. #7) Eagles possess vitality. When the eagle grows old his feathers become weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as they should. This makes him weak and could make him die so he retires to a place far away in the mountains and while there, he plucks the weak feathers out of his body and breaks his beak and his claws, against the rocks until he is completely bare. A very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in his hiding place until he has grown new feathers, beak, and claws. Then he comes out flying higher than ever before. Meaning we occasionally need to shed off old habits no matter how difficult. Things that burden us and add no value to our lives should be let go of.
