Author: Joseph Havens, SP5 USA 1969 to 1971, Vietnam Veteran
I might be an old soldier from a war that politicians did not act upon, did not allow our military, who was ready and positioned to win. But even though I came home in 1971 feeling like a loser. I still love my country!
And to this day, stand committed to the oath I took in 1969. An oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. So, Help Me God! This includes my many Brothers and Sisters in Arms. I just no longer need firearms! I only need the arms God created me with. I employ todays “Balm of Gilead”, human hugs and encouragement to heal, and raise the spirit of my fellow man! My new oath today is the last phrase of the military oath I was sworn to in 1969. Which I have stood by until this very day. Today I say “So, Help Me God.”
With a deep rooted value to never Give Up. Yet Today I “Soldier On”
I do my best to encourage, assist, help, protect, and meet my fellow American’s in need wherever they might be, with whatever they might need.
Again, today I see politicians all around failing to act. Failing to honor, or act upon the oath they took just three, or four, or maybe six years ago!
It is hard to watch as the country I love so much is being destroyed. Destroyed due to inaction by those you and I elected to care for it. If Law enforcement was not ordered to stand down. And were committed to the fight. Together we would restore much needed order in the land.
Law Enforcement Officer’s have a sense of calling to their jobs. They also are committed to their oath to Serve and Protect those living in the neighborhoods they patrol. If you think about this. You know it to be true. When they are unable to serve their calling. They can become demoralized like I was upon coming home in 1971 from Vietnam. I cannot stand by and watch America’s domestic Warriors be treated much like I was 50 years ago!
Please help us with a $15.00 donation to:
“whitewaterministries.com”
Your donation for $15.00 will make an encouraging difference in an officer’s life. Enough I believe to keep them in the fight! Many of them have been demoralized. But are still motivated to police. It seems when you watch the news. The whole country is against them? They know that is not true. But still they sometimes wonder who has their back? Together we can show them you do! We know times are tough for some of you. However, some of you may be able to commit to a monthly donation? This would be greatly appreciated and will go directly to encouraging Law Enforcement in your community!
